Stealth Bolt, Metering bolt Brake Proporting valve mod finished on the Impala SS

It only took 4 years. I Started the job in 2006 and drove it with the proportioning valve semi finished. It stopped fine, But the pedal feel was not the greatest. Now with the Metering bolt mod that I just installed, It corrected the delayed application of the FRONT brakes under a “Panic” stop. Yea, It sounds crazy messing with factory brake proportioning but these cars were never RIGHT from the factory. Now it is. The Front bolt changes the Brake Bias to 70- 30 The REAR bolt I show in the video restricts fluid flow to the front brake circuit under heavy front braking . The beveled edge allows brake fluid to travel to the front brakes unrestricted to fix the Delayed front brake feeling when SLAMMING om the brakes… Short story, GM put a DRUM BRAKE proportioning valve on car with REAR disc brakes because Caprices with rear discs were lower number cars than the standard caprice with rear drums. Its all a matter of GM;s bean counters saving money in now redesign the proportioning valve. The Brakes worked.. But not as good as they should. Because of this flaw the Front brakes did MOST of the stopping 90-10 bias and the car nose dived REAL bad.. The rear brake pads would last 5x as long as the front brakes because they were hardly being used Brake fluid leak was from a spill when I refilled the master..! Its safe! Testing Wiring on an Electronic Brake Controller Demonstration – etrailer.com

www.etrailer.com Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information. Today we are going to cover a few notes on testing an electronic brake controller. What we are going to cover here is going to apply to virtually all brake controllers. Basically, if you run into a problem where you think your brake controller is not working, well, it could be a the brake controller or b it could be something in the truck itself, in the connector or c it actually could be problems in the trailer. What we are going to show you today is how to look for problems that will either rule out the brake controller or make sure that it is the brake controllers fault. Just like any electronic devices, they seem to have a limited lifespan some will work for years and some will not. But this way you can also verify that it is working good. All right, the steps involved to test a brake controller are going to be pretty easy. You need one definite tool you need a light tester, like we have one here. Basically you ground it onto the body of the vehicle and you use this to probe the wire you are going to test. And it is best to use an incandescent bulb because a lot of times voltmeters do not put out sufficient load to actually activate the brake controller itself, because brake controllers are activated by the magnets that are on the trailer, and thus a load. So you can replace that load with a simple incandescent light bulb. So one of Comfort Auto Repair Is Happy To Offer Brake Information About Your Vehicle

DIY 1999 Ford Taurus Duratec 3.0 Repairs…Finally!

OK, Finally tuned up the Taurus. As I stated in my earlier video, the car has run on the original wires, plugs, fuel filter, trans filter, etc up to 182000+ miles! It started hesitating last week when if got a little warmer outside. Well, it was time for a complete tune up. The trans had also been shifting funny, kind of hunting around for gears, in and out of overdrive and stuff like that. I started out by checking out what transmission it had and also my plan of attack for getting the rear three spark plugs out. There is just no room even for my hand not to mention a wrench or socket! I gathered up my parts Friday for $120. This was for 6 Premium Autolite Platinum Plugs, Premium 8mm Wire Set, Tube of Sealing Grease, Transmission Filter and Gasket, 7 Quarts of Transmission Fluid, and a Fuel Filter. I started the job Friday after work. I pulling the plenum off after disconnecting the EGR valve, the air intake boot, and some wires and hoses. 6 small bolts and the intake lifted right off. Once out of the way, I started changing the plugs along the front of the engine and then the rear plugs. I put the old wires back on the plugs to change them later so as not to mix them up. I then changed the wires and transferred the heat collars from the old wires to the new wires. I finished that job in about two hours. That’s all I did Friday. Saturday morning I started cleaning the intake runners and plenum. That was a BIG job and took about 4 hours. I used a shop vac, some STP spray Comfort Auto Repair Is Happy To Offer Brake Information About Your Vehicle
