Let’s start with engine oil. If you have been paying attention, you will have noticed a number of new oil weights on the scene in the last several years. Modern engines are built to much tighter tolerances and have very complicated valve trains. The oil must be thin enough to lubricate complicated parts when the engine is cold. The weight of an oil is expressed in terms like 20-W-50 or 5-W-30. Manufacturers recommend the weight of oil for each vehicle they make. The recommendation is based on engine design. Your Winter Haven service center will know what weight your manufacturer recommends – and it’s important to follow those recommendations….
Meet The Man Who Enjoys Drinking Engine Motor Oil?
A bit off beat we admit
Meet Muhammad Omar, a man who drinks motor oils and says they are great natural energizing drinks. The Yemeni mechanic who lives in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, says he’s been drinking brake oils and lubricants as part of his “diet” since he was 17 and began working as a mechanic. Omar’s lifestyle is unique to him and we certainly do not recommend trying it out.
When we met him, we wanted to see how a man who consumes engine oils and petrochemicals seems to be leading a normal lifestyle. “I have been drinking all kinds of engine oils and consuming lubricants for 28 years now. I need to drink these oils to sustain myself”, said the tire serviceman.
Omar chose to work in a car maintenance center in Mecca to literally sustain himself. From a medical point of view, Dr. Abdel Hamid Jalhoun, a specialist in Internal Medicine, says that Omar’s is not an unconventional case. He is just like those who sustain themselves by eating frogs and desert locusts.
While we may find it difficult to tolerate such behavior it’s important to note that Omar’s behavior is psychologically motivated. “These oils and lubricants do not contain any toxic substances or abnormal ingredients,” he says.
The mechanic consumes a quantity of oil that is enough to keep a car engine running for 2500 miles. He says that he usually drinks two to three motor oil bottles a day and sometimes even four, in addition to lubricants. Shadi Hassan, a regular customer, was amazed to see Omar drinking motor oils.
Disconnect the fuel tank, connect a 2 litre bottle of vegetable oil in it’s place and start your engine. The car uses new vegetable oil (SVO) used vegetable oil (WVO) chip shop oil or diesel. Any fuel will do.
Please don’t just try this at home. There a quite a few adjustments that need to be made before one can use vegetable oil in their vehicle
Having a regular oil change for your vehicle is the single most important maintenance item that you can do.

Regardless, you need your car and you need it repaired, so your best bet is to get it repaired correctly — but as cheaply as possible. Unfortunately, the dealership may not be your best choice.
Start by asking the dealership for a detailed estimate on the repairs that need to be done. It’s a common issue with do-it-yourself (DIY) auto repair: Just as in assembling that IKEA bedroom set, you might have a rough idea of how to do the job, yet you don’t know all the details along the way—let alone what could go wrong in the process, or what to do if it does.
Only here the consequences can be much more expensive. Bodas has seen cases as simple as a customer who replaced an air filter and accidentally detached a vacuum line, to many who’ve in the course of a brake job broken a sensor or set off a warning light—or those who have managed to foul out during major maintenance like timing-belt replacement. In all of these instances, the piece of the repair job they were missing—in addition to understanding what might go wrong—is the diagnosis and troubleshooting that’s part of a real mechanic’s job.
$50 saved becomes $500 in damage

This force is usually applied to the engine pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle, which moves the components, and transforming chemical energy into useful mechanical energy.
The first functioning internal combustion automobile engine was developed by Étienne Lenoir.
